Highwood Motel

enjoyed my stay. it was clean also recently renovated. staff were friendly and guest room included a pool table which my sons enjoyed for a little while after our breakfast. the only thing is on Google it advertised a price a little bit below $90 and ended up paying about $20 more for 2 double beds.

Owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Older place, but very clean hotel, beds were comfy. They are in the process of renovating and updating everything, so it will just get better. Good continental breakfast too. I'll stay here again for sure.

Very pleasant and accommodating staff, Sharon was extremely helpful and made the stay so welcoming. The rooms were great, awesome location and very affordable! Pet friendly so it made our trip out to Blairmore so easy to plan! Thank you for everything Highwood!

We just stayed here this past weekend for a hockey tournament. The owners were so accommodating and super friendly. Our room was updated and we were very happy with it. I know they are in the process of updating, once it’s complete it will be an even better place to stay. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our family and friends.

Thank you to the staff/ owners! They were absolutely amazing and really did put customers first when it comes to creating a great experience. They made my family feel at home and were incredible in making our stay amazing. I highly recommend staying here. Don't let the outside fool you. The rooms are nice with comfy beds!!

We've have stayed at the Highwood in previous years, and it has always been nice stay. The new owners are doing a good job with renovations and updating the Motel. For the price/night it is very affordable. The rooms were clean and included a microwave and small refrigerator, coffee machine and hair dryer. There was a continental breakfast with waffles, oatmeal, juice and yogurt. The motel is also attached to a pizza place that serves some excellent food! It is also centrally located and walkable. We will be staying again!

The wonderful people who run this place opened up for me when I came in at 1 in the morning! I was extremely grateful for that as I didn't have a reservation or anything. The rooms are a decent size and clean. There are parts of the room, such as the bathtub that I felt needed some updating or a little TLC and I found the walls to be a bit thin so I could hear everything going on around me if someone was making noise. But the owners/management are wonderful and all in all I enjoyed my night here.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in February 2018, have been meaning to write a review since. The customer service was excellent. We were skiing at Castle Mountain and got a package deal on lift tickets with our room. The owner who was working the front desk was able to explain everything to us extremely clearly and in detail, which was helpful for us as we were new travelers and hadn't done something like this before. Our room was fantastic, modern, cozy, very clean. Included breakfast was nice. Booking a trip is obviously stressful but communication over the phone with the owner was smooth and prompt. Other places you call, can't get through to somebody, or you speak to someone different. At each point in the planning process the owner remembered who we were, was clear, articulate and friendly in response to my questions. Not rushed. And then when we got to Blairmore it was the same in person. Again, can't stress enough, the service was so so helpful and friendly, really made the experience for us. Easy trek to the main strip in Blairmore. On our day off skiing we drove to some of the surrounding towns and toured around. Our stay here made the trip for us. Obviously, is a budget option, but with that said, we stayed a night at the Ramada Inn in Canmore. Was about $20 or $30 more per night, and the room was way worse. Not clean, had a streetlight shining in to our bedroom, was small, ugly, stuffy, etc. I have stayed in far worse hotels for more money. I would have been pleased with my stay at the Highwood if I had paid significantly more. At its price, can't be beat. Gorgeous views from parking lot and from our window. Also, was given invaluable advice on which highway to take en route to Banff, as there was blowing winds. Without it we would have been in much worse shape.
